William Leake (78) of Fremont, CA was born in Woodland, CA on November 12, 1945, peacefully passed away on April 16, 2024, surrounded by his daughters.

Bill was predeceased by his wife, Georgette of 28 years. He is survived by his daughters Brynn Matthews (Ronnie) of Kailua, HI, Jonelle Leake (Jeremiah) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Laura-Anne Leake-Mosely (Marcus) of Pittsburg, CA and his stepchildren Annette Parry (Phillip), Gordon Benn and Robert Benn (Karen), and his grandchildren Arianna, Davey, Emma, Gavin, Jayce, Kevan, Maya, and Soriyah.

William, fondly known as Bill, was born to Kenneth and Eleanor “Nell” Leake, on November 12, 1945, in Woodland, California. Son of Daily Democrat Newspaper publisher, Bill worked for the local paper as a teen. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1964 and was a talented athlete, excelling in the high jump. Bill then attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and studied Print Engineering, before joining the Air Force in 1966. He was a Sergeant with the Intelligence Department and was stationed in Italy and Taiwan (6987th Security Group). When Bill left the Air Force in 1970, he returned to his studies at San Jose State, graduating in 1975 with a BS in Business. Bill moved to Fremont in the late 1970s. During his tenured career in technology, Bill worked as a purchasing manager for multiple companies in the Silicon Valley before retiring to spend more time with his family. Bill was able to enjoy many of his lifelong interests during retirement, including traveling with his wife, Georgette, substitute teaching, connecting with friends, playing golf and serving the communities of St. Leonard’s / Our Lady of Guadalupe and Holy Spirit Parishes. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge #2121 and SIRS Branch 59. Bill’s genuine joy for life and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
