Obituary For William Charles Houston
Bill passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the age of 76. He was born in San Francisco, and graduated from Poly Tech High School. His education included classes at San Francisco City College and an AA degree from Chabot College.
He served 4 years in the Air Force with 18 months in Okinawa, Japan.
Bill worked for the San Francisco Chronicle as a typesetter and in the composing rooms of Pernau-Walsh and Bowne Financial Printers. He retired in 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years: Lynette; son: Tom Houston; daughters: Dale DeLaughter (Jay) and Jill Gonzalez (Carlos); step-sons: Aaron Smith (Trish) and Brandon Smith; and grandchildren: Amy, Nate, Josh, Alex, Gabe, Julianne, Bailey, Nolan, Brittany, Skylar, McKensie, Tyler, Katie, Ireland, Shelby, and Justin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 17, 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Donations may be made in memory of Bill to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and St. Anthony's San Francisco.
