Bill’s life began on the family farm in Webster City, Iowa in 1925. Bill graduated from Lincoln High School Webster City and went to work for the city as a bookkeeper. In 1951 he met and married Yvonne Odland and together they had four children: Robert, Donald, William and Mary. He worked at and retired from the Farmers Co-Op in Gilmore City, Iowa in 1984.

Bill loved to travel abroad, and lived in Germany with his daughter for two years. He came to the Bay Area to be with his daughter’s family and to participate in all the area offers. He enjoyed the theater productions, museums, ocean, and the variety of people. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Bill’s favorite moments were spending time with his six grandchildren and various pets. He is missed by everyone who knew him and will be remembered for his kind and gracious nature.

Bill passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on May 23, 2014. He will be laid to rest in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa. In California, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.
