Obituary For Victor Duarte Capaz

Victor Candido Duarte Serpa Capaz entered into rest on October 23, 2017 at 7:45 a.m. at Kaiser South San Francisco after a five year battle with Chondrosarcoma. He was 50 years young. Victor was born on June 7, 1967 in Castelo Branco, Faial, Acores (Portugal) and moved to the United States in 1987. He resided in Brentwood, CA from 2002-2017 and in Newark, CA from 1987 to 2002. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Goretti Alice Bulcao Capaz. Victor was a devoted father to Britney Bulcao Lopez (Tony) and Nicholas Bulcao Capaz. He was a Loving Grandfather to Dominic Antonio, Liam Alexander, and Maya Isabel Lopez.; he was loving son-in-law to Beatriz Alice Bulcao. He also leaves grieving his Mother, Maria Terezinha Capaz, His Brother Renato Capaz (Ana Luisa), Sisters, Paula Sao Joao, Belmira Avila (Guido), Sandra Guedes(Jorge), Catarina Jorge (Vitor), and Sonia Capaz along with many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Victor should be remembered as a fighter, a warrior, and a true friend. He bravely fought cancer from 2009 up until his last breath and heart beat. He was a warrior who through all the pain never gave up, he never said no to trying a new treatment and never complained of pain. Up until his last moments would say, "the hardest day was yesterday" or "pain is just weakness leaving my body". He was a friend of a friend; always there to help everyone who needed him even in his worst of days. He loved his grandchildren beyond anything in the world, they were the sparkle in his eyes and his reason for fighting.

To my friend, brother, partner and Padrinho of Raymond and Matthew. Your warrior strength is an inspiration to all who either knew you or should have known you and your compassion for others. The good times and the challenges we shared with our families were worth more than words can express. I will miss our conversations of just shooting the breeze or those talks of a more serious nature to those of laughter and love. To the last ride we took together for fun meant the world to me and it is those carefree moments that I will miss the most. You might be gone, but your spirit of strength and what you stood for remains. I love you brother and someday we will meet again with your great sense of humor and large smile. Ray
