Toyoko Amagasa Duplessis was born in Gumakin, Japan in 1930 and passed away on Friday, October 7th, 2022 at the beautiful age of 92. Toyoko is survived by her only child, son Andrew Duplessis Jr., daughter in-law Latasha Duplessis, grandchildren Ashley Tyson, Lindzay Duplessis, Andrew Duplessis III, Trevon Madere, Tyler Duplessis and a great granddaughter Nyla Tyson.

She relocated from Japan to California in 1959 for a few years them moved to New Orleans, LA. She worked at Haspels Fine Men’s Clothing and as a housekeeper. Toyoko loved cooking her Asian/Creole fusion dishes which was very addictive to whoever ate her delicious healing foods. She loved gardening. Toyoko loved to travel and loved dogs. Toyoko was an active member of her senior center. She walked around Pontchartrain Park every morning which kept her so strong. She was a breast cancer survivor. After hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, she relocated back to California with her son Andrew. She enjoyed living in California, exploring all the scenic areas and going to On Lok Senior Center every day until her dealt with Alzheimer's disease. Toyoko didn't have much education but she had a degree on how to live your life right. She was so loved by family and many friends because of her self-sacrificing, caring and kind demeanor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 17, 1pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.
