Dearly departed "Topper" Robert Lee Martinez, 56 years old of Fremont, CA. unexpectedly passed away on the evening of November 9, 2019 in Fremont, CA. He was surrounded by many family and friends.

Topper was born on September 3, 1963 in Santa Fe, NM. His parents came to California in 1966 and settled down in Fremont, CA. In 1983 he married the love of his life, "Cookie" Ruth Martinez. They celebrated 36 years of marriage this past June. He was an expert with his hands and a man of all trades. One of his many passions was restoring and customizing his 1954 Ford F-100 that he inherited from his father. He loved cruising with the Ford F-100 Elite Truck club. He dedicated all his hard work to his daughter "Chula" Catalina Martinez, who was lost to cancer in 2014. He also renovated his home to make it a loving place for his family, friends and loved ones to gather and share wonderful memories. Topper is survived by his Grandma Aurelia Mejia, Mother Martha Martinez, wife "Cookie" Ruth Martinez, daughter and son in law Angelina and Adrian Barroso, granddaughters Mariyah, Abigail and Analicia. His siblings "Beto" Albert Martinez and Brenda Martinez and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.

In remembrance predeceased Catalina Martinez, Juan-Felipe Martinez, Jose Martinez, Albert Molinar, Jose Martinez and Adelia Armijo.

Topper was loved and respected by everyone he met. He was a man of character and a man of his word. Raider Nation!

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2019 with a Vigil Service at 3:00 PM, Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 18, 2019, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 41933 Blacow Road, Fremont. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Boulevard, Hayward.
