Obituary For Scott Maerk

Scott Allen Maerk, age 54, residing in San Leandro, California passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from a heart attack at his home in San Leandro.

Scott was born on October 16, 1968 to Jackie Lynn (Allen) Maerk and Louis Wayne Maerk, at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. His childhood was spent arm in arm with his sister Kelly Dawn (Maerk) Souza in Fremont California, where they attended schools in the Fremont Unified School Districts. Throughout their upbringing, Scott was a protective and loving older brother, ensuring that his sister would always have a strong shoulder to lean on. After graduating from Washington High School, he went on to work in construction.

During his life, he had passions for a wide array of things: bikes, animals, and sports. He was an avid biker, cruising down even the narrowest of bike paths. Animals held a soft spot in his heart, becoming the owner of birds, snakes, and cats over the course of his life. The Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Dodgers were lucky to have him in their fanbase, as he was one of the most dedicated supporters of their teams.

Scott is survived by his son Scott Jr., mother Jackie, sister Kelly, cousin Craig, brother-in-law Michael, nieces Megan and Tiffany, and nephew Michael Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 12pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA.
