Ruth Dumayas Mendoza of Hayward, CA, passed away on March 10, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 2, 1945 in Lanao Del Norte, Philippines to Uldarico and Rosalita Dumayas. Ruth immigrated to the United States to pursue a career as a registered nurse. She was a highly respected surgical nurse at Stanford Hospital, often selected by surgeons for international medical missions, before retiring at age 68 to care for her grandchildren. A devoted mother and grandmother, Ruth was an avid world traveler, sports fan, and woman of faith who filled her life with adventure—from exploring Egyptian pyramids to Alaskan cruises.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her son David, daughter-in-law Nerrisa, four grandchildren, Amaya, David Jr., Naseir, and Zoelle, and a large extended family who will deeply miss her vibrant spirit.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30th at 10:00am at the Fremont Memorial Chapel located at 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont, CA 94536. Her final resting place is at Lone Tree Cemetery located at 24591 Fairview Avenue, Hayward, CA 94542.
