Obituary For Russell James Allegre

Born January 29, 1947 and entered into rest on February 25, 2015, at the age of 68. He was a lifelong resident of Alameda County. He is preceded in death by his father Melvin, mother Hilda, and brother Joe Allegre. Survived by his wife of 25 years Elinor Allegre; children: Tricia, Justin, Amy, and Joe; sister: Adele Crum (Wayne); and nephew: T.J. Roderick.

Russ proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. Following his service, he became a skilled machinist and worked for Varian/CPI for 44 years, where he was respected and admired by his peers.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, classic car enthusiast, and could fix anything. Russ was a man of integrity and selflessness and was truly one of a kind. He was an exceptional husband, father, and friend and will be loved and missed by all who were lucky enough to cross his path.

The family is thankful for Willow Creek Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care in Castro Valley for the wonderful care they provided Russ.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Russ on Sunday, March 8, 1pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026. (brainsupportnetwork.org)

“Mark our words,” Dad, we love and miss you.

Russ was such a nice person. I only knew him for a few years but we had alot of fun hanging out at lunch and sharing fishing stories. He would sneak me pieces of fish from home and give them to me on the down low so our co-workers wouldn't get jealous. We will all miss him alot.
