I met Russel in 2001 Master Composter and we've been friends ever since. Actually, Russel was more like family and I was his honorary daughter. He always looked out for me and counseled me when my parents became ill. Russel inspired me with his energy, positive attitude and love of educating everyone about gardening, bees and of course Compost! Russel loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He made me laugh and scooped me out of sadness so Many times. I will miss him dearly. May you Rest In Peace dear friend. Love, Jeanne

Very nice man! He was into so many projects, bees, chickens, veterans, parades, volunteer, his garden, roller skating, his family. I used to ask Jermaine what he was up to because I knew that there was something new he was into. He had so much energy and positive attitude. Rest In Peace Mr. Shaffer. You impacted my life in a positive way with your beautiful soul.
