Obituary For Rose Viscuso

With great sadness, the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by son Tom Viscuso (Pam), daughter Kathi Viscuso and grandchildren Michelle, Jeff, Chris, Tom, Anthony Viscuso and Jason and Nick Lanthier, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Frances and Peter Gavi, sisters Tina Collins and Mary Joy Davi, husband Camelo Viscuso and son Peter Viscuso. The family would also like to acknowledge her dear and longtime friend Georgina Montellato.

Born in Pittsburg, California and graduating from high school in Martinez, California, Rose began a 45-year career in bookkeeping working for various companies including the Uri Meat Company and the San Francisco Giants. In 1946 she married a wonderful man, Carmelo “Mel” Viscuso and they raised three children in San Francisco and San Mateo. Rose was one of the founding members of the Italian American Women’s Guild of San Mateo. She enjoyed playing bocci ball and became the coordinator of the Northern California bocci tournaments. Rose loved shopping, fashion shows and lunches with her girlfriends. She was always impeccably dressed, with perfect hair, nails, matching outfits and her beautiful smile. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA, followed by a luncheon.
