Obituary For Roman Padilla Romero

Roman was born on May 8th, 1965 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA. Raised in Redwood City, CA, he attended Nativity Catholic Elementary School, and Junipero Serra High School. As a teenager Roman met and married the love of his life, Bernadina, of 23 years. They moved to Tracy in 1999, where they resided for 14 years, to raise their four children: Aaron, Andrew, Adam, and Julia. They recently moved to Newark, CA to be closer to family.

Roman worked hard under the waste company Republic Services (formerly BFI and Allied Waste) for over 28 years. He started as a front load driver then as an operations supervisor. Roman enjoyed baseball, cars, backyard barbecues at his Mom's house, movie nights, and anything that had to do with spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Bernadina; his three sons: Aaron, Andrew, and Adam; his daughter Julia; his mother Esperanza; his brother Alfredo; and nieces and nephews. Roman is preceded in death by his father Alfredo; and his three brothers: Melchor, Robert, and Daniel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26th, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27th, 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 703 C St., Union City, CA 94587. Burial will follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, CA.

    My deepest condolences to the Romero family. I will miss Roman dearly - I worked with Roman for 18 years, he seen me grow up. I loved him like a big brother. Roman - will never be forgotten.     Uncle Roman, its still not hitting me that u are gone I still remember all the times we laughed and made jokes and had serious talks. U were a great listener And was never afraid to tell it like it is. I know deep down our up there partying with ur brothers and dad. Give my dad (Melchor), a bug hug for me.
