Obituary For Robert Mora

Robert Mora, fondly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023, at the age of 96. His final moments were spent in the comfort of his home in Fremont, California, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was born on May 23, 1927, in the charming town of Cimarron, New Mexico. He lived a life that exemplified hard work, dedication, and true joy. From a young age, Bob served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the Navy. His education was paramount to him, when he returned from WWII he went back to get his high school diploma and then on to the University of New Mexico. After getting his degree he moved on to California to work at the Oakland Airport. He transferred that knowledge to a career of 38 years for SRI International. Traveling to several states, he worked on Radio transmissions (cell towers now) Aircraft and HAARP. Whenever he could, he would take his trusty fishing pole with him to continue his love of fishing.

During that time he met his wife Elizabeth and raised three boys, Marc, Juan and Matthew in Fremont. He served for the City of Fremont as Human Relations Commissioner and also on the local GI Forum commission.

After retiring from work, Bob continued his education at Foothill community college to become a travel agent. He worked as an usher for the Oakland A’s. He had the unique experience to travel to the Amazon rain forest to fish. His hobbies included golfing, following the fortunes of the legendary 49ers, baseball, and fishing in his hometown of New Mexico.

Bob leaves behind cherished memories with his brother Rudy and sister-in-law Georgiana, as well as his sister Dorothy and her husband Rich who he had weekly phone calls with. He will forever be remembered by his brother Raymond.

Bob's legacy will continue through his three beloved sons, Marc and his wife Nori, Juan and his wife Sherry, and Matthew and his wife Paula. As a cherished grandfather, Bob brought immense joy into the lives of his grandchildren, Marc and his wife Jerrica, Luke and his wife Amy, Francisco, Dominic, Elijah, Josh, Jonathan, Joshua, Chase and Katie. Furthermore, he leaves behind a lasting impression on his great-grandchildren, Robert, Samuel, Jackson, Chandler, and Benjamin.

May his soul find eternal rest.
