Much too early, we are laying to rest a beautiful and kind soul. A soul so loving and so special that an unimaginable amount of people are at a deep and eternal loss...
Raymond Kaine Lewin Phipps, just 19, left us abruptly on August 20th, 2013.
This angel is survived by his parents Maggie and Ricky Rougeaux, Marquel Phipps and his wife Kimberly Phipps. Ray's siblings, DJ Seals, Dominick Jackson, Jazmin and Raiana Phipps and Jackson Phipps. Ray's grandparents include Carolyn Berry Thayer and her husband Craig Thayer, Nancy Lewin, Mertyle Pruitt, Tommy Phipps, Loudel Culps, and Donna Rougeaux. Ray was sadly preceded by his grandfather Mark Raymond Lewin. Ray's Aunts and Uncles, Mackenzie Lewin, Kacie Lewin, Kelsey Lewin, Beth Skinner, TJ Valentine, Mike Phipps, Tiffany Phipps, Crystin Phipps, Anthony Steward, Kevin Moonty Coney and Kevonna Moore. Cousins include Taj Lewin Pina, Hailey Allen, Valentino Coney Ambriz, Anthony Steward, Aaron Steward and Carter Steward. As well as many, many, more extended family and friends from coast to coast.
Ray was a high school graduate and attended some college in Hawaii. Ray valued time with his friends and family. He enjoyed music, laughing, and sports.
He was a dedicated Oakland A's and Oakland Raiders Fan. Ray played football since he was 7-years-old. He spent six years with the FFL Bills and Raiders and played a year at Kennedy High School. He also played baseball (well) for many years with FBI and FNYB.
Private services are being held. Family and friends will be contacted.

Maggie and Marquel words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Raymond was a beautiful person and my heart aches that he is gone. If there is anything I can do please let me know. I am always thinking of you and praying for your comfort.

Words can not explain the way I feel. I hope that Ray's Mom and Dad, brother's and sister's can find peace in there heart. Ray you are a true angel. I love you. You were taken from us way to soon. R.I.P.

Maggie...been thinking of you,wishing there were words of comfort that I could say, but also know that there really aren't any that would suffice. New Ray for a very short time met in college in Hawaii. I remember meeting him through a mutual friend and he literally made me feel as if I had known him already. I struggle with social anxiety so I don't open up to people to often but he had a way of instantly making you feel comfortable. He was very easy to get along with and had so much potential, loved were he came from, would always tell me storys about the bay and all his friends. He was a very unforgettable individual and will always be remembered. Though a very brief period in my life you spent, Im never going to forget you Ray and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a friend to me. To his family and the rest of his friends I send my deepest condolences. He may be gone from this life but he will never be forgotten.
