Obituary For Ofelia Herrera

Ofelia Herrera passed away on November 1, 2022 at the age of 85. She is survived by Daughter, Sylvia and Joe Pascual, Son, Phillip and Beatrice Duarte, and Daughter, Diana and Michael Garza; 8 Grandkids: Joewel (and Liz), Cameron, Monique, Detria, Daniel (and Erin), Trina (and Danny), Marcus, and Mariah; 8 Great-Grandkids: Mila, Macy, James, Mary, Lindsay, Kayleigh, William, and Scarlet; 4 Sisters: Graciela, Esther, Blanca, and Bertha; and 2 Brothers: Manuel and Oscar.

Ofelia was born on April 15, 1937 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico to parents Esther and Manuel Herrera. She was a resident of the Fremont area for over 60 years.

Ofelia loved to be with family and to travel. She worked at the Hewlett Packard Company for over 24 years, working in electronic fabrication and quality inspection before retiring from HP in 1998.

In retirement, she loved to take care of her home and garden and spent many years with the grandkids traveling to soccer, basketball, football and baseball games, gymnastics, dance and school events.

She was a strong believer in the Savior of Jesus Christ, baptized at the age of 25, and belonged to the Bridges Community Church in recent years.

Ofelia was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov 6 from 5pm-6pm with a Chapel Service beginning at 6pm, at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont, CA. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, Nov 7, 11am at the Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, Fremont, CA, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the Bridges Church multi-purpose room.
