Obituaries

Myrna Merto Alpay-Garcia was born March 18, 1949 in Pagbilao Quezon Province, Philippines and entered into rest on June 4, 2019 in Brentwood CA, at the age of 70. Daughter of Timoteo Q. Alpay and Josefa M. Alpay.

Myrna is survived by her beloved children Jose Marie, Joselito Alpay Jr, Jose Ian, Mary Ann Joy, Honofre, and Evelyn. Loving grandmother to Desrae Faith, Tyler Caine, Jaeden Alijah, Jaesic Asileon, Jaerek Ami, Trystan Jet, Jaeriel Avolene, Hunter Jet, Logan Chase, and Avery Creed.

Myrna attended the University of Santo Tomas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at Kaiser Permanente in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as a charge nurse and after 30 years she retired and spent the rest of her time with her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 with a Vigil at 6:30 PM, Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. A Mass will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM, Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello St, Union City. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd., Hayward.
