Obituary For Mattie Frances Rousseau

Born May 18, 1929 in Austin, TX, and entered into rest on August 17, 2014 in Union City, CA at the age of 85. Survived by her children: Evelyn Sharp, Brenda Rousseau, Deborah Hughes and her husband Alvin, and Gentry Rousseau III; grandchildren: Brandon Rousseau, Frances Hughes, and Daniel Hughes; and great-grandchildren: Daymyan, Elizabeth, Brandon Jr., and Alvin Jr. Also survived by 2 nieces. Predeceased by her husband Gentry Rousseau Jr.

Mattie enjoyed bowling, traveling, bus trips, and gardening. She served on the Union City Planning Commission, and Union City Parks and Recreation Commission. Also, she aided in many political campaigns.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, from 10-11am and a Chapel Service will begin at 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
