Obituary For Mary Ann "Annie" Fernandez

Mary Ann Fernandez, lovingly known as “Annie” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Hayward, California, at the age of 70.

Born on May 28, 1956, in Pasig, Philippines, Annie was one of seven cherished children of Vicente Singh and Apolonia De Guzman. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from FEATI University in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines. While working at Stanford Microsystems, Inc. in Manila, she met the love of her life, Rodolfo Fernandez. Their relationship blossomed into a lifelong partnership and they were married on December 18, 1977. Together, they built a loving family and were blessed with four children.

In April 2001, Annie and her family moved to the United States where they established a new chapter of their lives and continued to create lasting memories with family and friends.

Annie will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her kindness, easygoing nature and joyful personality allowed her to form lasting friendships wherever she went. To know Annie was to feel accepted, valued and loved.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—watching her favorite Tagalog television dramas and Dancing with the Stars, enjoying Filipino cuisine, staying connected with family and friends through Facebook and traveling with her husband and children. She especially treasured her visits to the Philippines, where her gatherings became cherished family events filled with laughter, pool parties and abundant meals shared among loved ones. Annie had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Annie is survived by her devoted husband, Rodolfo Fernandez; her children, Rojannie, Annroj, Rojmary and RJ; her daughters-in-law, Rosaline and Rose; her sons-in-law, Sean and Joe; and her beloved grandchildren, Anngela, Jasmine and Rafa. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends whose lives were enriched by her love, friendship and generosity.

Though she will be deeply missed, Annie’s legacy of love, kindness and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Tita Mary Ann, I still remember the first time we met you many years ago back home in the Philippines. From the very beginning, we were grateful for the kindness and warmth you showed in welcoming us as part of your extended family. Through the many family gatherings we shared, you always left us with an example of someone who was strong-willed and deeply devoted to the people you loved. Even when we saw you in New York, you never let your exhaustion show whenever you were surrounded by family. Your love and care for those around you always came first. When we later moved here, you once again welcomed us with the same warmth and generosity that we had come to know from you. Your kindness made us feel at home, and we will always be thankful for that. Although we will miss you dearly, Tita, your kind heart, loving spirit, and the wonderful memories you gave us will never be forgotten. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. May you rest in peace Tita.
