Our Beloved Marva “Carla” Strong (Agard) passed away June 11th, 2024, in Fremont, Ca. at the age of 82. Born on September 12, 1941, in Colon, Panama, Marva spent her younger years living there until moving to California in 1958 where she spent most of her life with her loved ones.

Marva is survived by: siblings Jeanette (Bob) West and Elton (Yvette) Clark; Daughters Debra Strong, Lydia Strong, and Pasheonia “Anna” Prutdhome; Sons Lawrence (Elizabeth) Strong, David Strong, and Labarian Wallie; 7 grandchildren, over 20 great grandchildren; and many other family. Marva was proceeded in death by: her parents, Dorothy and Joe Clark; her second Mom Ruth “Nenen” Fearon; and her grandson Anthony Brown.

Marva will be remembered for her kind heart, her infectious smile and for her love of thrift shopping, collecting varies important mementos (and some not so important ones), and enjoying watching her favorites teams, the Warriors and 49ers. She had a genuine knack for entertaining friends and family, making everyone feel welcomed in her presence.

Marva had a way with words, she was always protective and cared about everyone she knew. She was known for her great conversation, sharing tidbits from her daily news watching and magazine reading. She was someone that all could go to for advice, a motherly figure to a lot of her friends and family. She will be missed and remembered as a woman of courage, love, and for being tough but fair.

A service to celebrate Marva’s life will be held at 11AM at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd. Fremont, Ca. on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024. Visiting hours will be from 10-11AM with the service to follow.
