Obituary For Marsha Diane Cabral

Marsha Diane Cabral was a pioneering Fremont Realtor, avid mentor, and deal maker. She pass away peacefully at home on April 7th, 2018 at the age of 75 with her loving family by her side after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born in Berkeley, CA on December 27, 1942 to Thelma Bushnell and Guido “Babe” Biagi who preceded her in death; along with her stepfather Weston Johnson. She was the devoted, loving wife to Leonard Anthony Cabral who preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Lori Ann Cabral, her son Anthony “Tony” Cabral and her only grandchild Jon Neizman. She is also survived by her sister Ramona Reitz, brother in-law Monty Reitz, nephews Steven Toquinto, Jeff Toquinto and Tim Toquinto, Lloyd Cabral brother in-law and Marlene Foley sister in-law and many other cousins and relatives. Marsha is a direct descendent of the 11 founding families of the City of Los Angeles and Monterey of 1769 and is the Great, Great Granddaughter of John Price who established the Pismo Ranch and thereafter established the City of Pismo Beach and presided as the first mayor. Marsha was raised in Berkeley until she moved to Newark at the age of 10 where she met her lifelong friends who she loved very dearly. In 1959, she was honored as Miss Newark and graduated from Washington High School in Fremont in 1960. She married Leonard in 1960 becoming a devoted wife and mother while learning how to farm, raise livestock, and mentor 4-H and F.F.A. members. Marsha managed all the Fremont Unified School District’s cafeterias in which she established many lifetime friendships she valued very much through the years. In 1979, Marsha attended Anthony School of Real Estate where she caught the Real Estate bug and where her spirit really shined. She obtained her Realtor license in 1979 and her Broker license in 2012 and has been an active Realtor/Broker for 39 years. Marsha’s work ethic was devout, and her word was golden. The only thing Marsha loved as much as her family and friends was real estate and helping others. She sold countless homes over a 39-year career as a Realtor and mentored many realtors along the way. Her dedication to her clients and her love of the Realty Experts family was un-paralleled. Although she often received accolades for her work her best reward was the satisfaction she received from helping others. Most recently she was honored as a Realty Experts Achievement Recipient, Bay East Association of Realtors Achievement Club Recipient, Bay Area Association of Realtors Honorary Member along with many more. She is a member of the Fremont Elk Lodge No. 2121 where she volunteered, a charitable volunteer to St. Joseph’s Church and the Dominican Sisters and to many other charitable foundations and events. She is a member of the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America, and the National Board of Realtors. Marsha has spent some of her most cherished days traveling with her friends around the world. Marsha is of Italian descent and loved Italy and all its beauty. Marsha was a fabulous baker and cook and enjoyed putting on parties, dinners and high teas for family friends and the Holy Family. She is known for her brownies and sharing with those she loved. Marsha’s greatest treasures were her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, integrity, perseverance, kindness, generosity and love. American Cancer society or charity of choice.

When I think of Marsha, I think of the "gift envelopes" she always had at her Brokers' Open - some with small amounts and always a "grand prize" of, as I remember, a $20 bill. She always made it fun and the words that will always be attached to her memory are "ethical" and "respect". She was a lady and special in so many ways - she will be missed.

I've been friends with Marsha for 60+ years, grammar school and high school. I will miss her, but will keep her in my heart for all the times she's helped me and my family. Of course there were the times she pulled me get out of my rut to help tear wallpaper off the walls at her Mom's mobile home, to cleaning up around the ranch, and the Tahoe cabins; we always ended up with a laugh or two. Her smile and confidence -always there, no matter what the task. My deepest sympathies to Lori, Tony, and Jon;her pride and joy and blessings to the rest of Marsha and Leonard's family. My husband and I bought several homes through Marsha. Watching her navigate the real estate maze in selling and buying properties was watching a master at work -- one who was not only an expert in her field, but who loved what she did. But Marsha brought more to her craft than expertise. She brought the sense she truly cared about her clients and fought to make their real estate experience a fair and positive one. You worked with her as a professional, but somewhere along the way you gained a valued friend. She will be sorely missed. My sincere sympathy and prays to her beloved family. Julie Haun

Oct. 16, 2018 I just now learned that Marsha passed away and am shocked and terribly sorry. She was a high school classmate and friend of my husband, Frank Haas. I got to know her through him. My heartfelt condolences to Marsha’s family and friends. It is her smile that I’ll remember! (Perhaps she’ll say hello to Frankie for me.) Sandra
