Obituary For Maria Aquino Valencia
Maria was born on November 25, 1925 in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines and called home to God's eternal Kingdom on June 9, 2022. She was the loving mother of Edwina, Rene (Gigi), Eldred (Orland), and Diosdado, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Diosdado, Sr., her parents Teodoro, Sr.and Sergia Aquino, brothers Federico, Sr., Bienvenido, Ernesto, Teodoro, Jr., Romeo and Remy, sisters,Trinidad, Leonila, Peregrina, Teresita, Gloria and Milagros, and sisters-in-law Lydia and Zenaida. Maria was a beloved Aunt to many nephews and nieces, Grandmother to nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
She resided mostly in Pampanga until she got married and traveled around the Philippines to support her husband in his job as Plant Manager for San Miguel Corporation, Coca Cola Division. She joined him in places including Marinduque, Quezon, Bacolod, Cebu, Bohol, Puerto Princesa, Palawan and Zamboanga, until they immigrated to California in 1983.
She raised and managed their children and strived to ensure that they get the best possible education and future. She helped augment the family income by having a small business. She was very frugal and resourceful.
She had passion for cooking and allowed many relatives and friends to enjoy some of the best Filipino dishes and famous delicacies. She loved gardening, dancing, and singing. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren perform in the different important events in their lives. She maintained her alertness in mind up to the end, remembering all the names of people she encountered during her lifetime, good in expressing her outright desires and wishes for everybody to follow. She took good care of herself consistently to maintain her beautiful appearance.
At 96 years old, she lived independently in her own apartment in San Francisco until she passed away peacefully at Washington Hospital in Fremont, California.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Vigil at 5:30 PM. Another night of Visitation and also Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM, all held at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. James the Apostles Catholic Church, 34700 Fremont Blvd, Fremont. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward.
