  Mrs. Freitas was my madrinha for my confirmation. I have known her almost my whole life. I was 8 years old when they moved next door. I have the best memories of playing at their house. Having singing groups over the summer she was always the best audience, giving us words of praise and encouragement. Family vacations together. She helped us make applesauce and she was always there for use whenever we needed her. She had a smile worth a million dollars and a heart of gold. She gave me courage when I had none and she was the queen of strength. She did so much for everyone else and never anything for herself. I could never understand how someone so sweet had to go through so much. I used to ask her, how she did it and her response was always with a smile on her face and words of faith stating, "She was not ready to give up and we had to remain strong." That is exactly what she did until her last breath. She truly made an impact on my life and I'm sure so many others. She will be missed for sure. I'm so sad, yet I take peace in knowing she is in Heaven with Jesus wearing such beautiful wings. Until we meet again Madrinha. Rest in Peace, I love you with all my heart.
