Margarito Reyes Alvarez, a resident of Newark, California, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Born on February 3, 1919 in Los Angeles, CA, he was 98. Margarito was a 71 year resident in Alameda County and worked at FMC in Newark for 37 years. He loved gardening and tending to his fruit trees and vegetables and also kept busy tinkering around the house or doing puzzles. On occasion Margarito could be found deep sea fishing out of Half Moon Bay. Margarito is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lucy Alvarez (2004), and son Richard Alvarez. He is also preceded by brothers and sisters- Helen, Jessie, Rosa, Mary, Felicia, Stella, Ofelia, Sandy, Tony and Julian. Survived by brothers Nick (Barbara), Manuel (Carol), and Ruben Alvarez; his sons Margarito Alvarez (Sally), Frank Alvarez (Mary), and daughter, Virginia DiGarzia and many nieces and nephews; Beloved grandfather of 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren., Margarito will be greatly missed.
