Obituary For Marcos Augustine Cardenas Sr.
Longtime Fremont resident Marcos Augustine Cardenas Sr. passed away Sunday February 17, 2019 at 1:15 AM.
Born October 8, 1922 in Mission Texas to Pablo & Genera Cardenas. Marcos came to California in 1955 were he got a job at Holly Sugar Mill in Union City. After the Sugar Mill closed down, he worked as Laborer in the Construction Industry for over 35 years until he retired. Marcos married his Loving wife Isabel Cardenas on July 5, 1956 and stayed married until Isabel passed away in July of 2002. They had seven children together Margie Fait, Esther Gallardo, Paul Cardenas, Veronica Ramirez, Mark Cardenas, Mary Siler and Jaime Cardenas. Marcos has two other children Gloria Vega and Marcos Cardenas Jr. from Houston Texas from a previous marriage to Maria de la Luz Cardenas back in April 30, 1944 in Mission, Texas.
Marcos aka "Grandpa" to many of his Grand Children, Great Grand Children and Great Great Grand Children. Grandpa also had many extended Grand Children that came through his front door that he loved as if they were his own Grand Children. "LOVE" was one thing that Grandpa thought and showed his family to live by. He was also loved & respected by everyone that knew him. Marcos "Grandpa" will be missed by all who knew him. CARDENAS STRONG LOVE NEVER ENDS.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019, 5:00-8:00 PM at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont. With a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 41933 Blacow Rd., Fremont. Burial immediately following at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont.

I will always remember my dear Tio Marcos for his awesome smile and the way he would make us feel like close family, even though we were thousands of miles from each other. The Cardenas thread is strong and binds us to each other. We are never alone... And always CARDENAS STRONG... ETERNAL LOVE FOREVER!

I remember coming back from Los danzantes performance and. Ur dad driving. With me riding shotgun. And I couldnât stay awake. And I would fall over the seat and ur dad laughing. Poor Jaime couldn5 stay awake and Paul and u4 mom laughing in the back seat of the blue van ! One of many memories :pray::skin-tone-4::pray::skin-tone-4::pray::skin-tone-4::pray::skin-tone-4: Back in the day. Prob 1980. Percent know Paul and Veronica would member. Lol. Miss those days
