Mabel passed away peacefully at the age of 99 with her nieces and nephews by her side. Mabel was born in Van Meter Township, Dallas County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ida and Albert E. Dymond. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband George, son John, brother Max and sister Mildred Gifford. Mabel spent most of her working career in government service in Chicago, Illinois. She transferred to Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas in 1971 to work in the Health Service Command of the 5th Army. She retired there in 1976. During her retirement she enjoyed her home, friends, travel, church luncheons, her needlepoint and crocheting, her pets, trips to Las Vegas, Nevada and her work and service with the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mabel moved to Fremont, California in 2006 to be close to her brother Max?s family and resided at Merrill Gardens where she lived independently until the grand age of 99. Mabel loved her visits from family, especially the boys, McDonald?s pies for breakfast, politics and watching her beloved Spurs basketball games on TV. She took pride in her cat K.C. She was known for being sharp as a tack, always dressed well and her hair and jewelry were perfect. Her raw wit will be truly missed. Mabel will be laid to rest with her husband, ?the love of her life?, at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.

There will be a celebration of her life at the home of her niece and nephew Rose Marie and Don Sipple, 38558 Canyon Heights Dr., Fremont, CA 94536 at a date yet to be determined.
