Obituary For Luis Caetano Dias
With heavy hearts, our family is saddened to announce the passing of Luis (Baldwin) Caetano Dias, beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Luis was born on March 31st, 1927 in Goa, India to Alex and Severina Dias. He spent most of his life in Bombay and Goa, moving to Union City, California in 2000. Luis completed his journey on Earth on January 27th, 2024. He was 96 years old at the time he passed.
He is survived by his wife, Bronita Dias, daughter, Maria Nunes, and his grandchildren: Ashita Dias, Desiree Nunes, Brooke Nunes, and Atlin Dias. Luis and Bronita were married in 1954 – they would have celebrated their Platinum Jubilee (70th wedding anniversary) in May 2024. Luis is also survived by his daughter-in-law Theresa Dias and his son-in-law Derek Nunes.
Luis was a dedicated manager and a hardworking individual all his life, bringing his career to fulfillment at Bombay Port Trust. He enjoyed reading, long walks, and working around the house. He was a steadfast provider and will always be remembered for his wit and wisdom.
His generosity and jovial nature impacted the lives of all those around him, and the pour of condolences from friends and family represent the love he gave and received throughout his long life. He joins his late son, Leslie Dias, in Heaven, and will be forever in our hearts.
