Obituary For Luis Alberto Deras

Luis is survived by his parents, siblings, son, and girlfriend. Luis Alberto Deras was born on August 15, 1994, to his parents, Xiomara Escobar and Luis Antonio Deras. He was the youngest among two, and just 11 months younger than his sister Alisia. From the very beginning, Luis and Alisia shared a bond that was truly special. They were inseparable, and people often mistook them for twins because of how close they were in age and how naturally they fit together. Xiomara always received compliments on how adorable her children were side by side.

Luis was a deeply loving child, a true momma’s boy with a heart full of affection. As life unfolded, Luis’s parents eventually went their separate ways. His mother Xiomara moved to San Jose for some time before settling in Union City, CA, in 2004, where she remarried. Not long after, Luis and Alisia received the joyful news that they would be welcoming a baby brother, Anthony, into their lives. From then on, it was the three of them—Alisia, Luis, and Anthony—bound by love and shared memories.

Luis spent his entire life in Union City, and even in his final days, he remained in the same house on 8th Street where he grew up. He had a magnetic personality, goofy, funny, and endlessly kind. He had a gift for turning strangers into friends and friends into family. His loyalty ran deep, and his friendships were some of the most cherished parts of his life.

As a kid, Luis loved playing soccer at Shorty Garcia Park in Decoto. As he grew older, his passion shifted to cars, especially Mustangs. His first car was a red 1995 Ford Mustang GT, which he shared with his sister Alisia, and from that moment on, Mustangs became his signature ride.

Luis was also a devoted father to his son, Izaak Noah Deras, who is now 11 years old. He adored Izaak with all his heart and took immense pride in being his dad. Their bond was beautiful and full of love.

Luis also leaves behind his loving girlfriend of eight years, Jocelyn, who stood by his side through life’s ups and downs. Their relationship was built on deep love, loyalty, and shared dreams. She was not only his partner but also a part of the family, and her presence in his life brought him joy and strength.

Tragically, Luis’s life was cut short on September 25, 2025, in a single-vehicle accident in Newark, CA, alongside one of his closest friends, Anthony Reynoza Monchez, who also passed away. Luis had just celebrated his 31st birthday in August. He had so much more life to live, so many more memories to make but God called him home.

Luis was the kind of person who would ride with you until the very end. And in this case, that’s exactly what he did. His spirit, his laughter, and his love will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
