Lucy Gomes Silveira was born on February 4, 1933 in Gustine, California and entered into rest on September 22, 2019 in Fremont, California at the age of 86.

Lucy is survived by her beloved husband Frank E. Silveira of 67 ½ years. Loving mother to Larry P. Silveira (Pamalea), Duane J. Silveira (Rachel), Richard J. Silveira and Steve J. Silveira (Andrea). Caring grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by twin sisters Janet Kothenbeutel and Janice Amaral. She is predeceased by parents Joaquin Gomes and Lucy Gomes, brothers Joaquin Gomes and Anthony (GoGo) Gomes, and her son Frank J. Silveira. Grandson William (Billy) Irwin.

Lucy was a homemaker she loved fishing, cooking, gardening. She enjoyed going RVing at the beach with friends and family, also traveling the world. In 37 years, she never missed a SF 49er home game and attended 2 super bowls. She never missed her sons’ or grandchildren’s sporting events.

Lucy always had a smile on her face, she was full of laughter even in her struggle to hang on.

Lucy was an example of love and will be truly missed.

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM, St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave, Newark. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2019, Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019, Hills Ferry Cemetery, 1334 W Stuhr Rd., Newman.
