Obituary For Louis "Lou" David Ferretti

Louis D. Ferretti, age 74, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. His positive and joyful outlook on life touched so many people.

Lou was born October 24, 1938 in Troy, NY. After graduation in 1959 from Catholic High, he joined the US Army and received training as a Medical Specialist. He had many memories from serving the majority of his time in Germany. After his Honorable Discharge from the Service he started his Business Career with Clairol as a District Manager in the New York area until relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1976 to continue his career path at Revlon. After many years on the road, traveling for business, Lou founded Beauty Mart Supply in 1982 with his brother Joseph and served as company President until his retirement in 1999.

Lou attended St. Edward's Church in Newark, CA, where he served many years as an usher. In 1996 he founded the Newark Knights of Columbus and was elected the first Grand Knight of Council No. 11790.

Lou is survived by his brothers: Joseph Ferretti and his wife Lee of Danville, CA, and David Ferretti of Troy, NY; his nephews: Joseph Ferretti III, Christopher Ferretti, and Jerry Vogt; niece Lori Vogt and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Marie Vogt and his parents Joseph and Mary. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 9, 10:30am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Edward's Catholic Church or to Pathways Hospice Foundation, 585 N Mary Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085, www.pathwayshealth.org.

    Louie, Louie...how you could make me laugh...such a sweetheart, but yet so mischievous...you made everything more fun because of it - and we loved you all the more for it.
