Obituary For Kuei-Mei Yen
Kuei-Mei Yen September 18, 1941 – August 1, 2016 Resident of Fremont, CA
Kuei-Mei (Monica) Yen grew up in Taiwan and graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in economics specializing in international trade. In addition to keeping the books balanced for her husband’s medical practice, she was an avid tennis player and often cheered on the sidelines for her daughters’ high school tennis teams. She is survived by her mother (Pao-Chu Wu), 3 brothers (Pei-Chang, Ying-Sheng, and Ying-Jye Wu), her husband (Cheng-chung Yen), her 2 daughters (Janie Sze and Bertina Yen), and her 5 grandchildren (Justin, Christina, and Olivia Sze; Natalie and Quincy Teng).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13th, from 9-11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Lunch to follow at 12:30 PM (restaurant location TBD). Please email Bertina Yen (bertina.yen@gmail.com) if you are planning to attend the funeral service and specify how many persons will be joining us for lunch so that we can get an accurate headcount for the restaurant. Inurnment at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA.

Aunt Monica was an amazing cook and hostess. We always looked forward to spending Thanksgivings and Christmases in Chillicothe; the house always smelled wonderful with yummy scents from the kitchen and the house was beautifully cheery.
