Kevin (aka “Squeaky”) Kurt Gillies of Fremont, entered into rest after a long battle of medical conditions on April 20, 2024 at the age of 59.

Survived by his mother, Amoi Leung of Fremont, California, father, Donald Gillies (Judy) of Port Angeles, Washington, sister, Cynthia of Sacramento, California, Brothers, Eric (Catherine) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bruce of Sacramento, California. Beloved nephews and nieces, Joshua, Kayla, Jaden, and Keairra. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins, associates, and friends. Predeceased by his brother Donnie Gillies.

He was born in San Diego, CA and lived most of his life in California. He was educated in the public school system of Richmond, CA. Graduating from Berkeley Adult School, earning GED in 1984. He attended Fremont Truck Driving school, became a certified long haul truck driver. He became a contract driver for Glasper Trucking Company for fifteen years. In 2000 he had to hang up his truck driving keys, when he received an unfavorable diagnosis which made it unsafe to drive Long-haul, any longer. He was an advocate for the legalization for medical marijuana in the 2000s it until it became legalized. He attended the Oaksterdam University graduating in 2009, he became certified in ALL things Marijuana. He loved to bowl, cook, drive and shopping was his all-time favorite past-time.
