Obituary For Joseph "Coach Joe" Peter Shamie
Born April 29, 1940 in Chicago, IL and entered into rest on July 5, 2013 in Newark, CA at the age of 73. Devoted husband of 52 years to Carolyn Shamie of Newark. Loving father to Robert McGreanor, Kathleen Drollinger and her husband David, and Lisa Gramkan. Grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 8. Caring brother to Barry Shamie and his wife Sue of Chicago. Treasured uncle of Barry Shamie Jr. and his wife Donna, and Christine McArthur and her husband Brian, all of Chicago.
Joseph was a beloved Fremont Football League coach for over 30 years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 11am-1pm followed by a Chapel Service at 1pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.
