Obituary For John Jay DePree

Born September 8, 1935 in Zeeland, MI, and entered into rest on March 27, 2014 in Fremont, CA at the age of 78. Survived by his wife of 9 years, Rosalinda Alfonso-DePree; children: Scott DePree, John DePree, Jr. and his wife Gabby, Thomas DePree, and Lisa Norris and her husband Bob; step-children: Pia Sigman and her husband Blake, Rommel Alfonso and his wife Rebecca, Ryan Alfonso, and Raymond Alfonso; and sister: Joan Hoffman. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Todd DePree.

Johns favorite past time was spending time at the casinos and enjoying get together times with his family and friends. He loved to tinker on everything he got his hands on. John was a craftsman and took great pride in all that he did. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, from 4-9pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Last viewing will be held on Friday, April 4, from 9-11am at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538. Inurnment at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, CA.
