Obituary For Jet Nepomuceno

IN LOVING MEMORY

Jet Irving Nepomuceno was born on June 14, 2005 in San Jose, CA. He was the eldest son of mother Sarah Zuniga, stepfather Cesar Zuniga, father Nemesis “Nezy” Nepomuceno, and stepmother Mary Lou Swortwood. He spent his early childhood living in Campbell where he filled many days riding his BMX bike around downtown. Many nights were spent making memories staying at his auntie Natalie’s house in Sunnyvale and working at his grandparents’ restaurant, where he developed a love of cooking with his grandma Rose and became a food connoisseur. In 2020, he moved to Lathrop when Sarah and Cesar bought a home. No matter what city Jet lived in, he always made an impression on people. He was very charismatic and loved by all who met him. Jet was a devoted brother who loved to play with his sister, Aria; they would swing together and he would teach her to do somersaults. He could often be found listening to music, training his dog Luna, and hanging out with his friends and girlfriend, Maddy. During his life he enjoyed playing various sports such as baseball and football. He also loved to drive, loved nature, and animals.

Jet departed this life to be with the Lord on May 14, 2022 and is predeceased by his grandfather Rene. He is survived by his parents, stepparents, sister, Aria; stepbrothers, Dresden and Bowie; grandmothers, Carla, Rose, and Patti; grandfather, Lalo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Condolences

  • 05/22/2022

My Condolences and Sympathies; I have seen Jet grow from his Mothers womb to a bouncing baby and into a handsome young man. Jet had a big laugh, a great smile and beautiful black hair that was envied by many. Jet had the energy of dynamite and left an imprint wherever he went. His smile would light up the room whenever and wherever he entered. Jet questioned all things and noticed everything. Jet had a quick to forgive heart and he would be angry at you in a moment then forget about the issue a minute later. Jet had a heart for the underdog, the broken and the hurting soul. My favorite memory of Jet is when I had to drink some terribly tasting supplementation for illness and I would procrastinate while Jet would say 'come on guzzle it-go, go, go. Good job!' Jet was a great cheerleader. The best memory was watching Jet and Sarah interact. Jet loved his Mom and only wanted to please her and make her proud. Jet would be so close to Sarah always standing near her and wanting to communicate and make her laugh. Sarah on the other hand adored her sweetie pie and Jet kept a smile on Sarah's face. Sarah's unconditional and unwavering love for her son was something to be admired and taught me a lot about love. They enjoyed each others company immensely. Jet loved Daddy with the same intensity and couldn't wait to do those boy things together. Jet looked forward to their time alone and being around Nezy. Jet always came back from a visit with a great haircut and a new style. Jet loved his Grandmas and Grandpas and spoke about them with great love. Jet was blessed to have an extended family that loved him so much and he loved them. I cannot imagine or fathom how devastated Sarah, Nezy and Cesar must be. My heart aches for you and I know you will never be the same. None of us will be the same. We are not promised tomorrow and therefore now, today, is when we must love one another and know our time here on this earth is temporary. It is my prayer and hope that we learn from the life of Jet and not let this tragedy and loss be of void. No matter where we are; embrace the youth and our young people, for they are fragile and vulnerable always needing the encouragement. Thank you Jet for your spirit and I will always love you.

I've known Jet essentially his entire life since, he was a teeny weeny baby. He got along real well with my step son when they were toddlers.....getting into all sorts of mischief. (Imagine if you had two Loki's for you Marvel fans). Boys will be boys though, and it was double trouble whenever these two got together. It was disconcerting then as a new/young parent, but looking back, I'm glad they got into trouble and had lots of fun doing it, but more importantly, memories to share and look fondly back on. I think a lot of us remember this one time, (I might recall this one differently) nearing the end of someone's birthday at a children's gym (I think) while all the adults were gathering their kids to leave, Jet and my stepson snuck off into the bathroom together and loaded the sink with paper towels and flooded the bathroom - and having a grand old time doing it! Ha! I'd see him sometimes regularly and sometimes sporadically throughout the years, and he never failed to ask me 'where's Jaden?!?' He was the kind of kid that loved to bond with others and seek human connection. He held onto the good times he had with someone and once you were his friend, you were forever his friend. Naturally treated you as if no time had passed, even if it had been a year or two - just picked up where you last left off with him like that. Loved that he was always friendly, open and welcoming that way. As Jet got older, I found that I really enjoyed speaking to this young person who was transitioning to a young man with his new found sense of freedom and his drive to become independent and responsible. Totally reminded me when we were that age and having the same hopes and dreams, (Car, job, girls!). It was a nice reminder I was young once too. Nezy, Sarah, I can't begin to imagine what you two might be feeling and I'd be lying if I said things will get better over time (as if I know how these tragedies unfold for everyone). The only thing I do know, and that I can speak confidently on, is that he always bought a smile to my face whenever I interacted with him, whether at your family parties or when he came camping with us or just hanging out in general. The short time he was here, he brought joy to both Jaden and me, and left us a gift of memories he was part of creating...and the awesome part is, we get to choose which memories we remember him by - the little rascal, the warm friend, or the motivated young man reminding me of my own youth! RIP Jet
