Obituary For Jane Eileen Burleigh

Jane Eileen Burleigh was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Unfortunately, on November 17, 2022, Eileen passed away in the emergency room unexpectedly due to a medical condition. Her daughters Kaitlyn and Valerie and her husband Kenneth were by her side in her final moments and held her hand until the very end.

Eileen was a strong, courageous woman throughout her entire life. She was born on June 3rd, 1954 in Oakland, California to Jeanne Ruth and James Robert Glover. Just like her dad, who went by Robert, she preferred to go by her middle name, Eileen. She grew up in the Bay Area with her 4 siblings: Carol, Penny, Bob and Jimmy. Although her parents, and 2 of her siblings, Penny and Jimmy, were also taken from life too soon, she held their memory in her heart, never forgetting them. She had so much love for her family, especially her niece Pam and nephew Mike, as well as her lifelong best friend Linn. She worked hard throughout her whole life and was known for her honesty and integrity. She was very dedicated to her jobs and would never "cut corners" or take the easy way out. She believed in always telling the truth and raised her daughters to do the same. She was always genuine, kind hearted and generous. Eileen was baptized as a Christian. She enjoyed reading the bible and was a member of Harbor Light church. As a mother, she did everything she could to provide her family with an excellent quality of life, even when times were tough. She loved having a clean home and a beautiful garden. She also loved her pets, especially her cat Smokey, who she loved to snuggle with on the couch while watching movies. She was a gorgeous woman who loved to have style and take care of herself. She enjoyed getting her hair, nails, toes, and eyelashes done. Some days she would do her makeup and get all dolled up, while other days she loved nothing more than to put on a comfy pair of pajamas and chill on the couch, playing games or coloring and watching TV. She also loved listening to country music. She struggled from time to time, as we all do, but she handled it all with grace and strength, setting forward a wonderful example for her daughters and loved ones. When she became a grandmother, she had a renewed sense of love for life and was so excited to watch him grow. Her grandson Valentino was her pride and joy. He loved to play peek-a-boo with his grandma and he would smile and giggle every time he saw her. Unfortunately, Eileen was taken from us too soon, and will be watching down on us all from the Kingdom of Heaven.

We will be celebrating Eileen’s life on Tuesday, November 29th at 10am at the Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont California, with the Funeral Service beginning at 11am. Please feel free to join us.
