Obituary For Irma "Mima" Sclafani

Irma "Mima" Anne Sclafani was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2023 at the age of 78.

She was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador to her loving mother, Rosa Figerora on December 28, 1944. She went to school and became a teacher. At the age of 26, Irma chased her dreams and immigrated to the United States where eventually she met her husband, Sal Sclafani. Together they had 2 children: Frank and Gary, 4 sons in total including Tony and Michael.

Irma loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking delicious El Salvadorian meals for her family from Pan con Pavo to Pupuas. Her favorite thing was having amazing family dinners every Sunday sharing laughter and memories that will last a lifetime. Irma cherished her days alongside her grandchildren. During her free time, she would spend it under the warm sun in her garden and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Irma had a green thumb unlike any other. She flourished both in her garden and in her life.

Irma is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and happiness in her life.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, April 21st, 1:30 pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont, CA 94536.

Sclafani Family: Today I found out of the passing of Irma. I want to express my deepest sympathy to Sal, Frankie and Gary and of course her grandchildren. I hold several fond memories of us at the soccer fields. Just recently I came across a picture of Gary and my son Jeff I would say they were around 12 yrs old..so many good times!
