Entered into rest on July 2, 2013 in Roseville, at the age of 76. Devoted wife of 57 years to Sammy Ayala of Roseville. Beloved mother of Elizabeth Ayala of Lincoln, and Cynthia Lopes of Roseville. Cherished grandmother of Kelley McClanahan of San Francisco, Samantha Lopes of Roseville, and Joseph Lopes of Roseville. Treasured sister of Magdalena Lozano of Fremont, Linda Escobedo-Pleger of Fremont, and Benjamin Baez of Stockton. Irma is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Sammy Ayala, Jr. in 1972.

Irma was born in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. She moved to California during her childhood and graduated from Washington High School. Her professional career included more than 20 years at the Santa Clara County Housing Authority. Irma loved traveling, gardening and cooking, especially the favorite meals of her three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, at 10am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 37891 2nd St., Fremont. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
