Iris Annie Petersen was called home on 09/27/2024 to be with her Beloved Husband Pete, Beloved sister Teresa, and Beloved Mother Iris. Born in Dundee, Scotland on 08/21/1932, Iris left her beloved Scotland in 1957 to be with her Family in California and was a long time resident of Newark, CA (66 years). Beloved mother to Paul (Sandee), Sharon (Jack), Linda (Don), Tracy (Franz). Beloved step-Mother to Dave (Dottie), Harold, Edele (Gary).

Beloved Grandmother to Christopher, Sean (Jennifer), Andrea, Eric, Jason, Rachel, Veronica, Doug (Nicole), Heather, Rachel, Sara (Zachary), David (Ashley), Chris (Cyndi), and Thomas (TJ).

Beloved Great-Grandmother to Bennett, Aurora, Jeremy (Brianna), Natalie (Ethan), Zoe (Jacob), Ayden, Liam, Kiyomi, Taiyo, Davey, Frankie. Beloved Great-Great Grandmother to Greenlea.

Beloved sister to Teresa (John). Beloved Aunt to Iris (Roger) and Nicole (David). And a great Friend to many. Preceded in death by very special companion, Ben.

A beautiful Lady, Iris brought Love and Joy to all she came in contact with. Throughout Iris’s beautiful life, she was able to travel to many beautiful places including Italy, Scotland, and Hawaii. However, all of these places took 2nd place to Iris’s favorite place… PEPPERMILL in Reno. Hands down Iris’s favorite place, which gave her so much joy over the years and she took many wonderful trips there with her children and other Family members. Iris will be so missed, but her lasting impact on her family and friends will be a source of Love, Hope, and Joy now and always.

A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 16th, 11am at the Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd. in Fremont, with a reception to follow directly after the celebration.
