Aunt Irene was a great Aunt! She was one of those tough on the outside, soft on the inside types. Always so good and patient with us kids, which usually meant 12 of us all at once when the Higby's, Sousa's and Mendonsa's were all together!! Aye Carumba, how did they do it?!! She had a beautiful smile, and when she laughed, it was contagious. I will always remember the holiday smells in her kitchen, and she made the best frosted sugar cookies which were my personal favorite! And some chocolate covered coconut candies called "Martha's Ball's" LOL I would love those recipies if anyone has them. She will be dearly missed. RIP Aunt Irene
