Obituaries

Irene E. Ulrich, 93, a native of Fresno, CA, passed peacefully in Fremont, CA, on September 12, 2013. Her mother was Elizabeth Nilmeier and her father was Benjamin Nilmeier, both from Fresno. She had one sister, Florence Rudolf. She was married to LeRoy G. Ulrich for 73 years before his death on May 5, 2013.

Irene was a member of the Legacy Chapter OES #555 in Fresno. She was awarded the Rob Morris service award for ?above and beyond? Chapter support by baking cakes and cookies, making crocheted items, and working the kitchen for fund raising dinners.

Irene is survived by 2 sons, Ron (Judy) and Ken (Ruby), 4 grandchildren, Jeff Ulrich, Darrel Ulrich, Lisa Stark, and Sean Ulrich, and 5 great grandchildren, Alexandra Ulrich, Benjamin Ulrich, Matthew Stark, Jillian Stark, and Elissa Ulrich.

Irene will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother. She especially enjoyed cooking, knitting, ceramics, and crocheting. Everyone who knew her was a recipient of at least one pair of her crocheted potholders and a frog or duck ceramic piece that she and LeRoy made.

A chapel service will be held tomorrow, Monday, September 16, 1pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Private family burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno, CA. A memorial service for friends and family in Fresno will be planned.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
