Obituary For Henry Lewis Sanchez

Henry Lewis Sanchez passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him.

Henry was born to Jacob and Rosa Sanchez in San Francisco, California, and was the youngest of six children. He was raised in Kingsburg, California, where he graduated from Kingsburg High School.

He married the love of his life, Gloria Sanchez, with whom he shared 59 beautiful years. Henry and Gloria built their home and raised their family in Fremont, California, creating a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and family gatherings. Gloria passed away just eight months before Henry, and now they are reunited.

Henry was a hardworking and dedicated man. He built a successful career as a welder and mechanic, spending most of his professional life with United Airlines. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in his trade earned him the respect of his coworkers and the admiration of his family.

Henry is survived by his son, Henry Sanchez, Jr., and wife Isabelle, along with grandsons Peter and Thomas; his daughter Caroline Fagundes and husband Laurindo, with granddaughter Anjelica Roebuck and grandson Robert Roebuck, and Robert’s girlfriend, Priscilla Ramirez; and his daughter Evelyn Sanchez, with grandson Nathan Sanchez-Torres.

He also held a special grandfather and great-grandfather role within the Fagundes family: Jonathan, Christopher and Deziree, and their daughters, Amaya and Mia; and Laurin and Irving, with their sons, Thiago and Camilo.

Henry was a devoted and loving father and grandfather who found his greatest joy in family. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as Mr. Papa or Papa, and to his many nieces and nephews, he was lovingly called Uncle Louie. He will always be remembered for his kindness and generous spirit — qualities that touched everyone who knew him.

A master of the charcoal grill, Henry was famous for his ribs and for the joy he took in cooking for family and friends. He and Gloria shared a love of travel, exploring destinations across the country and around the world – though Hawaii and Las Vegas remained their favorites. A loyal Raiders and Warriors fan, Henry followed his teams with unwavering enthusiasm.

After retiring, Henry enjoyed volunteering at the Centerville Free Dining Hall in Fremont, continuing his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Henry is now with his beloved Gloria. Together, their love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of their family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
