Obituaries

Gilbert Anthony Mata, age 52, passed peacefully from this life. A wonderful and giving son. He was a loving father to his 4 children: Michelle, Amanda, Anthony and Micheal Mata. A kind and patient grandfather to his 8 grandchildren. He is survived by his father, Sereldo and mother, Elizabeth Mata. Also survived by his sisters: Valerie Lovato and Corina Scott. He is preceded in death by his sister Jeanette Mata.

His hobbies and interests were artwork, sports, camping, and fishing. He was a follower of the Apostolic Christian Faith.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm with a Prayer service at 7pm on Tuesday, September 8th at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 9th also at the mortuary. A burial will follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery in Hayward.
