Gertrude passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday evening when she lost her battle with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude.

Gertrude is survived by her aunt Madeline Decosta; her children Darrell and Raye Jones, James and Janet Jones, and Lynnette Weeks; her grandchildren Jamei and Bobby Goodwin, Alexandra Smith, Emilee and Erich Klein, Kathy and Dan Dominguez, Jodei Lancaster, Kelly and Glenn Sison, Chris and Miranda Thompson, Sarah and Robert Eggito, Jr., Katie Bowling, and Justin and Jennifer Jones; great-grandchildren: Mariah, Sam, Isabelle, Nathaniel, Chelsey, Murphy, James, Danielle, Shelly, Emilee, Tallie, Gabriel, Travis, John, Araya, Autumn, Araya, Matthew, Skylar, Emma Raye, Dillon, Dalton and Emma, Dustin, Morgan, Cody, and Austin; great-great grandchildren: Calista, and Hayden; and caregivers: Lavinia Mau, and Toupou Moala.

Gert loved being at home working on creative projects. She could make gorgeous pictures out of anything from nature. She loved to work with ceramics and she and Claude worked wonders with wood.

A Memorial Service will be held for Gert on Friday, September 20, 6pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.
