Obituary For George Lesnikoff

George Lesnikoff of Fremont, passed on November 23, 2021, at the age of 74.

He was born on May 22, 1947 in Regensburg, Germany. George was the son of Constantin and Zoe Lesnikoff. George’s family left Germany and immigrated to Ethiopia in 1950, and then to the US in 1960. They lived in Colorado, Pismo Beach, and finally settled in Walnut Creek.

As a young man, George learned how to play the guitar and sing Russian and American folk songs. He attended many Russian parties at his parent’s house and the houses of his parents’ friends. One of his favorite folk songs is “Rambling Boy” by Tom Paxton. He was passionate about family, the outdoors, photography, and was a devout supporter of animal welfare agencies.

George graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Geology and an MS in Engineering. He built his career at Kaiser Cement (later sold to Hanson Materials) in San Jose, where he held various positions from Chief Chemist to Production Manager. George is survived by his life partner Kathy, his step-daughter Stacy, his nephew Vlad and his family, Svetlana, Svatoslav, and Vlada, as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he kept close to his heart. He also leaves behind many dear friends that were more than friends, they were family. Thank you to all of you who were there for George, with love and friendship, both during his life, and during his illness. Your kindness and generosity touched him deeply.
