Gaspar Gonzalez Jr., 66 years old was taken from us on April 6 from a short battle with cancer. He went peacefully with family by his side.

Chato was born December 26, 1959 in Oakland, California. He grew up in Union City Alvarado. Chato was well loved by his family and extended family. He was larger than life. If you met him you wouldn't forget him. He was a big joker and you always knew when he was in a room, he said what was on his mind with no filters. But, if you needed something he was there. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and daughter, he loved fishing, watching his sports, and he would give you his last dollar if you needed it. He had a strong presence, his family was his world, his love extended far beyond just immediate family.

He is survived by his son Andrew, and 3 daughter Christine, Lani Starr, and step children Alfred Leite and Marialena Landavazo. His grandchildren Aleaha Hernandez, Ariana Carranza, Isreal Hernandez, Gustavo Gonzalez, Ariella Carranza, Angelo Gonzalez, and Logan Gonzalez. His Uncles Robert Gonzalez, Jesse Gonzalez, David Estrada, Edward Estrada, Rudy Estrada, and many nieces, nephews, and counsins. Chato was preceded in death by his parents Gaspar Sr. and Marie Gonzalez and his wife Jamie Gonzalez.
