Obituary For Francisco Suarez Ornelas
Francisco Ornelas passed away the afternoon of February 9, 2019 surrounded by his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Francisco was born in El Refugio Paredones, Jalisco on March 22, 1934 to parents Monico Ornelas and Gavina Suarez. He was adventurous and hardworking as a youngster and loved mariachi music and playing cards. He spent a lot of his time as a youngster working on his family’s land.
In the early 1950’s Francisco journied to America with hopes of making a good life for himself and sharing his earnings with his family back in Mexico. He first arrived to the areas of Fresno and Salinas, Ca where he worked in the fields picking lettuce and cotton. It was hard work, but it made him proud and happy he could send his earnings back to his family in Mexico.
Time passed and it was now the early 1960’s. Francisco worked hard and saved enough of his earnings to take a trip back to his beloved Mexico. It was during this trip he met and fell in love with the love of his life Rosario Guerrero Dominguez. They married and had their first child. The young family returned to the surrounding area of Fremont, Ca where they lived for several years and had 7 more children (a total of 8). The family eventually moved from Fremont to Newark, Ca and would remain there from 1976 until the present.
Francisco continued working in the fields and crops of Fremont, but it did not provide much income for his family. Francisco then decided to take a chance in the work force of Construction. He worked as a Laborer and took part in the constructing of large concrete buildings and Roadways throughout the Bay Area. He would remain in Construction for 30 years until his retirement.
Francisco was a hard worker, great provider, and amazing father/grandfather/great-grandfather. He was adored by his 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten by all that loved him. Siempre en Nuestros Corazones.
