Filomena was born July 14, 1937, in Faial, Azores, Portugal. She entered into rest peacefully in her sleep on September 25, 2023, at 9:54 AM in Fremont at the age of 86.

Filomena Amaral came to California 64 years ago and has been a lifelong resident of Fremont, California. She was a member of SDES Alvarado, Union City for the past 45 years. Filomena enjoyed many years with her husband, preceded in death, Antonio Amaral dedicating their lives between city and the ranch life. The ranch life is what they enjoyed. Enjoying their cattle and just spending time with her husband. She loved to travel, loved showing family the pictures she took on her adventures. She enjoyed long talks about growing up back home with her siblings. Reminiscing the good times, the holidays and Portuguese festas and their traditions.

“Madrinha” as she was affectionately called by her godchildren, enjoyed baking and making food for loved ones that were sick. This was her way of showing love. Loved sitting in her recliner praying the rosary and spending time sitting in the backyard enjoying the weather and her plants either talking to a loved one, a caregiver or listening to Portuguese music.

Filomena was preceded in death, by her husband Antonio S. Amaral. Preceded in death by her parents Jose Ribeiro and Maria do Rosario Terra, sister Maria Alice Garcia, her bother Leonel Ribeiro Terra and her youngest brother Jose Liduino Terra. Caring sister to brother Leonildo Terra and his wife Eduardina Terra, her sister Lina Goulart and her husband Antonio Goulart. Also, survived by 8 godchildren which she loved as her own, numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family, which included her loving caregivers and also survived by her most loyal, loving cat that never left her side, Sissy.

Filomena will be truly missed tremendously. Forever in Our Hearts and Never to be Forgotten.
