Estrellita A. Garcia passed away on April 2, 2023, in Fremont, California surrounded by all her family. Her parents were Emilio and Maria Alotaya. She is survived by her loving husband Francisco, her children Robert, Gina and Jonas, and her grandchildren Daniel, Peter, Alyssa, and Noah.
Ester deeply cherished her grandchildren. She stopped working to support her children in raising them. Ester was active in her local church Holy Spirit, where she volunteered regularly. Her passion was to help the underserved in the community. In her free time, she loved playing bingo with her mother and close friends.
Ester was kind, loving and generous. She was a role model to the whole family and taught us lifelong lessons that we will always carry with us. We treasure all the memories we share with Ester, especially the last month of her life where we spent every day at her bedside. She will be truly missed but we know she will be watching over us as our guardian angel.

Leesa "DIL" Ruiz-Mossman
Just finding out about her passing, my deepest condolences to the family. She and uncle Frank have been on my mind lately. Many fond memories of our families together growing up. Auntie Ester would always call me her "DIL" and was an ongoing thing for years. Rest in peace I'm sure you're with my Mom & Dad watching over all of us.

I remember Auntie Ester as someone whose love knew no bounds. She saw my family as her own, and in many ways, she was a grandmother to my sister and me. Rest in peace, Auntie Ester, and thank you for making our family a part of yours.

I remember meeting Auntie Ester when she brought Alyssa and Peter to play with my kids. Along with the kids she brought the flat Afghani bread for us!! When I think of Auntie Ester, I think of family, love and food for all. She embraced our family into her loving one. Rest in peace Auntie Ester. -- Vade, Kaavya, Sandip, Dipali

I was 9 years old when I first met mom-Ester. We just moved to Fremont. We went to Winchells Donuts and you'd think I'd be excited for yummy donuts, but was not. Soon as we walked in we were greeted by this (to my 9-year old eyes) latin looking lady with sort of a bouffant hairdo and had such a happy-bubbly personality! (Ester) I never forgot that day as I thought to myself, I want to be just as happy & bubbly as her when I grow up! As many visits to Winchells my mom made, soon enough my mom and Ester had become good friends. Ester always brightened my day with her big smile! At that time I didn't really know her name and I just called her the "Happy Days lady". Who would've ever thought I'd be so blessed to marry her son Robert 16 years later!!!!!

I remember a fond memory when my mom worked for Social Services and she donated her time at an elementary school in the western addition of S.F.. It was there I learned how to be kind and respectfully understand others. As a young boy it was the beginning of shaping me of who I am as a person today.
