Obituary For Edward Leroy Barber

Ed was born in Oakland to Elmer and Hazel Barber. He was raised in Santa Rosa. He served in the Air Force for 4 years. He moved to Fremont in 1965, this is where he met his wife Linda and they were married in 1977 in Kauai.

Everybody he met loved him and he would do anything for family or a friend.

He loved playing golf, water skiing, and Nascar auto races. He loved spending time with his grandkids.

He sold cars for 17 years and then worked at NUMMI painting trucks ‘til he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years; his children: Colleen Raeber and her husband Matt, and Ty Barber; his grandchildren: Zachary and Sydney Raeber, and Tyleigh & Taytum Barber; his siblings: Elmer Barber Jr. and his wife Donna, and Joann Polvarrari and her husband Joe; his nephew: Joe Polvarrari; and his nieces: Jennifer Polvarrari, Gari Barber, and Denise Erickson.

Also survived by his brother-in-law Jon Ammerman and his wife Daniella; sister-in-law Lisa La Pray and her husband Terry; nephews: Shane Ammerman, Shawn Ammerman, Jared La Pray, Brandon La Pray, and Jacob La Pray; and niece Monica Ammerman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 11am-12pm and a Chapel Service will begin at 12pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 10, 12:30pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Rd., Gustine, CA 95322.
