Obituary For Dorothy June Rose

Dorothy J. Rose passed away peacefully on February 9, 2015 surrounded by love. Beloved wife and true partner in work, family and play to Francis "Mickey" G. Rose for 67 years. Loving mother to Nancy Schroder (Chuck), Michael Rose, Susan Rose and Robert Rose. Sweet Nana to Brian Williams, Wesley Williams (Colleen), Kyle Rose, Nicholas Rose, Lindsay Minyen (Brandon) and Holden Rose. Great Nana to Jordyn, Jacob, Natalie, Zoey, Jaxon, Kennedy and Tristan. Also survived by 3 nephews, 2 nieces and several cousins.

Dorothy was born on June 6, 1926 to Creed and Irene Domenici in Niles, CA. She graduated from Washington High School in 1944 and married the love of her life in 1948 at Corpus Christi Church in Niles. She was a member of many womens clubs and organizations within the community though out the years. Dorothy was co-owner of Fremont Chapel of the Roses and Fremont Memorial Chapel. She lived with dignity, loyalty and laughter as her foundation. Always the lady! She nurtured our hearts, our stomachs and our spirits, always willing to help out whenever possible. She enjoyed being on the lake with family, jigsaw puzzels, a lively game of skip-bo, dancing and anything that was a family gathering she loved. Dorothy was the most loving and caring wife, mother, nana and friend anyone could have asked for and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16th, from 9-11am and a Chapel Service will begin at 11am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A private family entombment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.

I have some really great memories of Dorothy and the Rose family. We spent many holidays together sharing great food, laughs and good times. Dorothy was one of the sweetest, kindest and loving ladies that I had the privilege of having in my and my families lives! My heart aches for Mickey and all of her family, but know that I am here if you should need anything. I will miss her terribly, but know she is now a beautiful Guardian angel over all of us. I love you always Dorthy

I didn't really know Dorothy except that I do know she was a wonderful mother, as witnessed through the quality of character of her daughter Nancy, my high school friend. I am so sorry for your loss. -Connie (Vargas) Elkhouri

Such a bright light! Dorothy’s positive influence on my life began when I was a teenager in high school. Hanging at the Roses was like being on an island of calm during turbulent times. She was the best mom, the most outstanding grandma and great grandma and she will be dearly missed. John Williams

Dear Roses, I just wanted to say that I am truly sorry for your loss, I know how much she meant to each and every one of you. Mrs. Rose, I enjoyed seeing you pop in from time to time at the funeral home. You were always a picture of perfection from your hair to your shoes. I enjoyed chatting with you at our potlucks and birthday parties at work. I will miss your sense of humor and not only seeing the playful banter between You and Mr. Rose but just seeing you two together in general. You two will always be one of my favorite couples.
